Youth in SCE experience from 2020

Volunteering with the European Civic Service offers a unique opportunity for civic engagement while enjoying an enriching experience abroad. The program enables young people aged 18 to 30 to contribute to a variety of projects, such as education, the environment, or helping vulnerable communities, while discovering new cultures. In addition to developing professional and personal skills, volunteers benefit from full financial support, including accommodation, meals and sometimes language support. This experience enhances teamwork, builds self-confidence and broadens horizons, while promoting European values such as solidarity and inclusion. It's an ideal opportunity to combine commitment, learning and travel.

Become a partner of the CSCE network

The Collectif pour un Service Civique Européen (CSCE) is the story of young people under the age of 30, driven by their own experience of mobility (Erasmus, European Voluntary Service, International Volunteering) and their commitments to associations and citizens, in particular civic service. Our collective proposes to combine the existing (national civic services and European Solidarity Corps) to maximize the number of European mobility carried out, while opening up national experiences of civic service to Europe.

This experience allows the knowledge of the culture and the language of the other. In this way, young people lay the foundations for a new solidarity, and Europe becomes more tangible for everyone.

An innovative mechanism

The Service Civique Européen - or SCE - it's :

  • 6 months of civic service / long-term youth volunteering in your country.
  • Then 6 to 12 months of European mobility thanks to the European Solidarity Corps.

You must be between 18 and 30 years of age; your professional experience and level of education are not a criterion.
You'll carry out your missions within your community, as part of an SCE class: an intercultural group made up of 50% national and 50% European young people. You prepare in your own country (networking, missions, training and language courses) and then choose a European mission with an association anywhere in Europe.

A network of European associations

The associations of the network are active in the implementation of their own European civic service. They have a structural role:

  • host a full class of young people in SCE thanks to their national volunteering mechanism and participate in youth exchanges in Europe, and can also offer you a European mission,
  • or European missions only - in reception and sending in the European Solidarity Corps
  • or simply sending in the SCE promos of other partners.

Partnerships on unique projects

As a network of associations our common goal is to open up opportunities for young people all over Europe.

Our partnerships are based on:

  • youth exchanges in the European Civic Service or the European Solidarity Corps,
  • the creation of pilot projects of national civic services/volunteering youth in the mechanism of the deployment of the European civic service,
  • European projects on themes such as solidarity, social, culture, environment, vocational training, etc.
