On December 9, 2021, the President of the French Republic publicly announced his intention to create a European civic service for all young people under the age of 25. The government presented our project as a priority of the French Presidency of the European Union.

The European Charlemagne Youth Prize rewards projects run by young people that support democracy in Europe and promote cooperation and understanding in Europe and worldwide.

It highlights the daily work of young people to strengthen a shared sense of European identity, and rewards their active participation in the development of Europe.

On January 22, 2023, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty, the French and German governments jointly launched the "Génération Europe - jeunes talents franco-allemands" network. The OFAJ is responsible for coordinating this network.

"Génération Europe - jeunes talents franco-allemands" is supported by the French Ministry of Education and Youth and the Federal Government.

Under the terms of article L. 120-1 of the French National Service Code, introduced by the March 10, 2010 law on Civic Service, the aim of Civic Service is to "strengthen national cohesion and social diversity by offering all volunteers the opportunity to serve the values of the Republic and commit themselves to a collective project by carrying out a mission of general interest with an approved legal entity".

Label Paris Europe - Laureate 2020

The Paris-Europe label rewards initiatives that are clearly complementary to the policies pursued by the City of Paris, be they social, cultural, educational, civic or environmental in nature.
It is dedicated to projects that promote the cultural, linguistic and civic richness and diversity of Europe and its institutions.
They can last up to 24 months, and promote a better understanding of the European project and its values through: citizen participation and collective commitment, cultural and linguistic plurality, the fight against discrimination, the social and solidarity economy, educational exchanges and digital technology...
