New Horizons is a social empowerment initiative called ALMA, which is focused on supporting disadvantaged young people from Poland aged between 18 and 29 who are not in employment, education or training. The program aims to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to achieve their goals, such as finding employment or starting their own businesses. Under this project, after individual accompanying in Poland almost 50 such youth were accompanied, between 2 up to 6 months, to be engaged during 2024 Paris Olympics and ParaOlympics, where they were the only youth coming from abroad engaged full time for organization and preparation, but also in border City of France and Germany, to animate locally, help the socially derelict and Ukrainian refugees, and develop local economy. Almost all youth got back, by the end of the project, and after individual tutoring, to studies or directly engaged in employment.
Mobility in Paris, support activities for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
The “New Horizons - Mobility in Paris” initiative provided valuable professional experience in the context of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The two-month assignment combined 20% on-site training with 80% practical engagement. Based in Paris, the program enabled participants to make a meaningful contribution to a range of activities at a major international event while gaining exposure to intercultural and professional environments.
Participants took on a variety of roles, ranging from event coordination to cultural facilitation and educational support. As European youth project assistants, they played an active role in the European Carnival, facilitated networking events with the Polish Embassy, and contributed to logistics operations during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. In collaboration with local educators, they also contributed to school programs, promoting cultural exchange and community engagement. In return, participants gained practical experience in an international context, developed technical and non-technical skills, and expanded their professional networks.

As a volunteer, you will support a variety of community-focused activities:
🛍️ Local retail experience: Gain practical experience in stores, assist as a salesperson or advisor, and improve your French in a real-world setting.
👥 Social inclusion: Visit elderly people, support children in schools, and help strengthen community ties.
🎨 Culture and creativity: Work with the cultural center, create media content, or offer your own activities such as sports, dance, or yoga.
