Innovative youth volunteering programme for social inclusion of
Ukrainian refugees
INNOVolunteering is a European project co-funded by the Social Innovation+ initiative of the European Social Fund+ (ESF+), which aims to promote youth volunteering as a tool for the social and professional inclusion of young Ukrainian refugees.
Running from September 2025 to March 2027, the project brings together French, Polish, and Czech partners to test new ways of involving young people in civic action, solidarity, and community development.
At the heart of this project, INNOVolunteering creates mixed teams of local and Ukrainian youth volunteers who work together on community projects, support local organizations, and gain new skills through hands-on experience. Ces activités favorisent la cohésion, la compréhension interculturelle et l'autonomisation, tout en encourageant les valeurs européennes de solidarité et de participation.
The project will test innovative approaches to volunteering inspired by the European Civic Service model, thereby helping to shape a new vision of youth engagement across Europe.
Objectifs du projet
- Soutenir l'intégration sociale et professionnelle des jeunes réfugiés ukrainiens en France, en Pologne et en Tchéquie.
- Experimenting with innovative forms of volunteer engagement, inspired by the civic service model. This project serves as a laboratory for innovative solutions for integration and social cohesion.
- Create mixed teams composed of young Ukrainian refugees and local youth, working together on missions of general interest, engaged in community service activities.
- Promouvoir leur intégration sociale et professionnelle par le biais du volontariat, de la formation et de l'acquisition de compétences utiles pour l'avenir. Key skills for young people: communication, leadership, teamwork, civic engagement.
- Promouvoir la mobilité européenne et l'échange de pratiques entre les villes et les acteurs de la société civile.
- Testing a European approach to integration by linking Poland, the Czech Republic, and France in a joint initiative and, more generally, by piloting a transnational model of civic service in Central and Eastern Europe.
Open call to local NGOs and community partners – Mobilizing young people in solidarity actions for Ukrainians
