Volunteer in Europe and discover other cultures

Meet other countries, other languages and other ways of life, while working alongside young people from all over Europe for causes that matter: solidarity, environment, culture, education. There are two pathways: choose the one that suits you.

Young volunteers on a mission

These pathways are part of civic service and the European Solidarity Corps, French and European public programmes that support youth engagement and accompany every volunteer throughout their mission.

Which pathway is right for you?

In both cases, no diploma or language level is required: only your motivation counts.

Young people from all over Europe · aged 18 to 30

European mobility

The European Civic Service pathway: a mission in your own country within a European team, then a mission in another country with the European Solidarity Corps.

  • Duration 6 to 12 months abroad
  • Where Italy, Spain, Poland, Cyprus, Portugal, Malta…
  • Covered travel, accommodation, food, insurance and pocket money (European Solidarity Corps)
  • Ideal if you are doing, or have done, a civic service in your own country

Residents of France · aged 18 to 25

International civic service

“Our youth, our best ambassadors”: a mission in the French cultural network in Europe (institutes, French schools, Alliances françaises), in sport, solidarity or in France.

  • Duration 6 to 10 months, departures in October, January and September
  • Where 32 positions in 18 cities: Sarajevo, Prague, Athens, Venice, Warsaw…
  • Covered monthly allowance, local living supplement, insurance and training
  • Ideal if you want to leave directly from France

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a diploma or to speak a foreign language?

No. There are no diploma or language requirements. Language classes are offered before and during the mission.

How is my mission supported?

Volunteers receive an allowance: through civic service (monthly allowance and local living supplement) or through the European Solidarity Corps (travel, accommodation, food, insurance and pocket money).

I don’t live in France, can I still take part?

Yes, through the European mobility pathway. If your country has no national civic service, you can directly join a European Solidarity Corps mission with one of our partners.

How many hours a week?

Around 30 to 35 hours a week depending on the scheme, over 5 days, with weekends free.

Who supports me during the mission?

A mentor in your host organisation, and the Collective’s team, with regular check-ins from departure until the end-of-mission review.
